Every time I make a model rocket, the kitty liter nozzle blows out. How do I stop this?
I make my rockets out of kno3 and sugar a pvc pipe and kitty litter. I pack down with a hard cylinder. I start with half an inch of this litter then spoon after spoon of the kno3 mix packing it down in between. When I get a little more than an inch from the top then I fill it with more litter and pack I down. Then I drill a hole through the last litter layer and all of the kno3 mix layer
Don't make your nozzles with kitty litter.
Since there are so many variables in motor construction, I can't tell you exactly what you're doing wrong, but in my experience, simple clay works as a nozzle. Kitty litter, as I imagine it, is too granular for this purpose.
