Monster High Dolls Review
Mattel, a number one toy company launch other dolls than others. Unlike most fashion dolls, the characters are inspired by the monster movies and horror fiction. They are depicted as being related to or are offspring of famous monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman.
Mattel has released a total of six monster high dolls which are all teenage children of famous monsters and each one has their own freaky flaw that they have to deal with. Draculaura, daughter of Dracula; Laguna Blue, daughter of the Sea Monster; Clawdeen Wolf, daughter of the Werewolf; Frankie Stein, daughter of Frankenstein; and Cleo De Nile, daughter of the mummy, and Deuce Gorgon, son of Medusa. These are sold as a set which each doll displays features that connect her to the monster parent. Frankie Stein has stitches, Clawdeen Wolf sprouts fangs and ears, and Laguna Blue is adorned with fins. And, as mentioned before, each doll is accompanied by its appropriate pet. For example, Draculaura cares for a pet bat, and Cleo De Nile has a pet snake.
Monster High Frankie Stein is the daughter of Frankenstein and his bride. She is describes as the 'new girl' of Monster High and is only 15 days old when she starts school. She has various of stitches all over her body and has pale green skin. She has 1 blue and 1 green eye. She also has two bolts on her neck which serve as electric conductors. Same as Frankenstein's Monster in the novel, she is highly athletic and agile, and even lands a spot in the 'fearleading' squad (even though her body parts, especially her hands, tend to fly off at the worst times). Frankie Stein comes with her scary cute pet Watzit (I think its a puppy with several different animal parts). Watzit has been stitched together like her with all the best bits of household pets.
Monster High Draculaura is the teenage daughter of Count Dracula. She's 1599 years old and still looks pretty! She comes with her own pet bat called Count Fabulous. Thanks to her vampire blood, Draculaura isn't be able to see her reflection in a mirror and must use her umbrella to walk in the sun safely. She is a hemophobic, being unable to even say the word "blood" without feeling faint. She has pale pink skin, protruding fangs and her appearance is similar to Béla Lugosi in the 1931 film version of Dracula. She has pointed too, elf-like ears. She wears a Victorian-era clothing and has a style closely resembles Lolita fashion. She is known to be poetic and she loves creative writing. She doesn't have a reflection such as classic vampires. Monster High's Clawdeen Wolf is the daughter of the Werewolf. She has an African-American or Hispanic looks and has wolf ears and protruding fangs. Along with her best friends Frankie and Draculaura, she makes up the central characters of the webisodes. She is known to have a wild, uncontrollable nature especially when she sees a full moon. She often shaves and plucks her excess hair that grows rapidly all over her body. She has a brother named Clawd who is the BMOC (Big Monster On Campus), but is only mentioned in the diaries that come with the dolls. Clawdeen is of the coolest ghouls in school with her cute fashions, accessories and scary cute pet kitten called Crescent. She's hairy but still looks beautiful!
Monster High Lagoona Blueis the daughter of a Sea Monster. She is 15 years old.. Her "odd quirk" is that she must stay near water so which her skin doesn't dry out but all that swimming in pools has turned her blond hair blue. Her look is akin to Gill-man that come from the 1954 film Creature from the Black Lagoon. She has long, blond hair with blue streaks and light blue skin. She also has several fins, webbed hands and gills behind her ears. She speaks with an Australian accent. She is descipted as a jock and is the captain of Monster High's swim team. It's been stated she is closer related to amphibians rather than fish. Seeing as she doesn't have a problem with breathing on land, it seems to be plausible. She has a pet Piranha called Neptuna whom she carries around in a fishbowl purse.
Other characters that found on the website and in webisodes include Ghoulia Yelps, Holt Hyde and Jackson Jekyll. All of these characters are sure to appear as collectible dolls in the future.
