The Plumber Who Fights Dumb Apes And Koopas
When I was still a little child, there were no PlayStation or Nintendo DS to entertain us. Such game consoles never even existed in our dreams back then. We did have game consoles back then that we really enjoyed, but they were not as advanced as the ones available now. Of all the games available then, "Donkey Kong" is amongst my favorites. It is about a carpenter and his pet ape. The ape was mistreated by his carpenter master. The ape kidnaps the carpenters girlfriend after escaping from his master. In summary, the object of the game is to control the carpenter "Jumpman" though 4 stages to rescue his girlfriend form his ape.
The game, being a big hit back then, made the two main characters very popular in the gaming world. The ape would be know as Donkey Kong. The carpenter, who would be eventually be known as a plumber, was named Mario.
Mario is one of the well-know video game characters out there, if not the worlds most famous character in video game history. He is so popular that he appeared in over 200 games in various video game genres. And as a tribute to the most popular game, there have been many thing with the theme of Mario like a Super Mario house, Super Mario Bros Costumes. I have also seen giant lego statues.
I have not encountered a person who does not know who Mario is, and I think I never will. Even if they are not crazy about Mario, I think some people at least know something about Mario. There are many people who are crazy about Super Mario. Some people even go the lenghts to design their houses like the worlds in the Super Mario games while there are others who make custom made furniture with a Mario design. Back then, I recall that I also have been addicted to Super Mario. I only play Super Mario games then, and I also owned lots of Super Mario Bros Costumes like Mario, Luigi, Toad, and even Bowser. I think I will look for my old Super Mario Costumes when I have the time for I think I still have them. I also remember that while walking I would habitually hum the gameplay music of the first level of Super Mario Bros! For there are too many of them to fit this article, I did not include all the ways people express their love for Mario. Still, you will get an idea on how popular Mario is.
Super Mario Bros has become a big part of gaming history. I personally think that Mario will still live on in the future and will be loved by our grandchildrens and their grandchildrens.
